BVI Expands Flight Accessibility: Miami and San Juan Routes Resumed

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is enhancing accessibility with the resumption and expansion of daily nonstop flights from Miami by American Airlines this fall. Commencing on November 16, these flights to Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport will increase with a second daily flight on December 5 and a third on December 23. Additionally, Tradewind Aviation will introduce nonstop flights between San Juan and Virgin Gorda from November 16, offering multiple round-trip flights on various days, with extra holiday flights. Clive McCoy, the territory’s director of tourism, expressed gratitude for partnerships with American Airlines and Tradewind Aviation, making it easier for travelers to explore the stunning destination.

The BVI aims to welcome both longtime guests and newcomers to experience the paradise it offers. Last year’s launch of daily nonstop flights from Miami marked a milestone, eliminating the need for connections in Puerto Rico or St. Thomas. The BVI is also gearing up for year-end and New Year’s events, including celebrations at Foxy’s, the Trellis Bay Old Year’s Party, and the More for 2024 event on Virgin Gorda. The territory is expecting visitor arrivals via sea, thanks to initiatives to increase cruise ship calls and develop new land excursion options.
