Delta Air Lines and El Al Israel Forge Long-Term Codeshare Agreement
Delta Air Lines and El Al Israel Airlines have recently announced the implementation of a comprehensive long-term codeshare agreement, set to take effect on January 1. This strategic partnership aims to enhance connectivity between the Americas and Tel Aviv, offering passengers reciprocal codeshare benefits and frequent flyer advantages, including the ability to earn and redeem SkyMiles.
Despite the ongoing conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, El Al has demonstrated resilience by maintaining operations and increasing flights, particularly to the New York area. Under this collaboration, Delta customers originating from North America gain access to El Al’s nonstop services departing from key locations such as New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale, all bound for Tel Aviv.
In the future, El Al’s designated code will be integrated into Delta’s connecting services to major destinations, including Atlanta, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Dallas, and Toronto.
Alain Bellemare, Delta President – International, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing convenient, high-quality air service to and from Tel Aviv. He stated, “Through our codeshare agreement with El Al, we will offer customers more convenient travel options between North America and Israel.”
Shlomi Zafrany, EL AL V.P. – Commercial and Industry Affairs, highlighted the significance of this codeshare agreement, stating, “The start of this codeshare agreement between Delta Air Lines and El Al offers customers access to convenient one-stop services from Israel to cities throughout the Americas and welcomes new North American customers to El Al’s world-class service to and from Tel Aviv.”
Notably, passengers on both Delta Air Lines and El Al Israel Airlines can now accrue and redeem loyalty points seamlessly across both carriers, fostering a more integrated and flexible travel experience.
