National Geographic Day Tours Expands with 30+ New Itineraries

Operated by TUI, National Geographic Day Tours is broadening its horizons with more than 30 new land tours, adding to the existing 100-plus tours in 14 countries led by National Geographic-trained guides. Travelers can now delve into experiences such as exploring the world of bees in Greece, discovering the Rome of Julius Caesar, unraveling Jane Austen’s literary genius in the United Kingdom, and savoring the melting pot of flavors in New York. Launched in 2022 as shoreside excursions through cruise lines, these tours are now available for direct booking.
Nancy Schumacher, Senior Vice President and General Manager of National Geographic Expeditions, expressed excitement about immersing travelers in extraordinary locales and cultures with the knowledge of National Geographic-trained guides. Peter Ulwahn, CEO of TUI Musement, highlighted the tours as once-in-a-lifetime experiences offering something for everyone, crafted to honor the National Geographic legacy and provide top-quality, authentic, local experiences.
The tours cover diverse topics such as nature, conservation, photography, culture, gastronomy, and history, with insights from local specialists including archaeologists, marine biologists, chefs, farmers, photographers, historians, and scholars.
Some new itineraries include:
- “Homage to Miró” in Barcelona, Spain: Exploring the artworks of Miró inspired by his European journeys.
- “A Visit to the Oceanarium” in Lisbon, Portugal: Gaining insights into the ocean led by a marine biologist.
- “The History of Pasta” in Naples, Italy: Discovering the global epicenter of dried pasta in Gragnano.
- “Hudson Yards, Where Sustainability Meets Urban Design” in New York: Uncovering the engineering behind this unique neighborhood.
- “Baguette and Eclair Initiation with a French Master Baker” in Paris, France: A hands-on lesson in traditional French baking.
