Southwest Airlines Launches Holiday Charity Promo

Southwest Airlines has launched a charitable initiative, the “Points for a Purpose Holiday Promotion,” offering its Rapid Rewards Members a distinctive opportunity to make a positive impact through donations to select nonprofits. The promotion, running from December 1 to December 14, 2023, encourages customers to contribute a minimum of $25 in cash to specific nonprofit partners.
Under this program, for every dollar donated, customers will receive 10 Rapid Rewards points, and Southwest Airlines will match the equivalent points in the nonprofit’s account. The initiative covers diverse categories, including Life-changing Transportation, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Education, Human Trafficking Awareness, and Disaster and Crisis Response.

The featured nonprofits encompass organizations such as the Honor Flight Network, Make-A-Wish, Canine Companions for Independence, Guide Dogs of America, Asian Pacific Islander American Scholars (APIA), Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Rescue America, Airlink, American Red Cross, and Team Rubicon.

Laurie Barnett, Vice President of Corporate Reputation at Southwest Airlines, expressed the significance of partnering with customers and employees to support impactful nonprofit organizations during the holiday season. The promotion aims to leverage the popularity of the Rapid Rewards Program and aligns with the spirit of giving during the festive period.

To participate, individuals need to provide their Rapid Rewards account information, with points reflecting in the customer’s account within 45 days of making a donation. The promotion has a maximum earn limit of 10,000 points, and while these bonus points are valuable, they do not contribute toward A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass qualification.
Southwest Airlines continues to showcase its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility by encouraging its customers to contribute to meaningful causes while simultaneously enjoying the benefits of its loyalty program.
