Safety

Oman stands out as one of the safest countries globally, boasting an exceptionally low violent crime rate. Terrorism is not a prevalent issue, and the locals extend welcoming attitudes. However, it’s essential to respect Omani conservative culture, ensuring modest clothing in public.

Climate

With an arid climate, Oman experiences year-round heat, reaching extreme levels in the summer. The best time to visit is from December to February when temperatures are more bearable.

Budget

While slightly challenging on a budget compared to neighboring countries, Oman offers accommodation options starting from 12 Omani Rial ($30 USD). Hostels are scarce in Muscat, but camping is a viable alternative in many parts of the country. Meal prices range from 2 to 6 Rials, depending on the location. Transportation is predominantly by car, and self-driving is preferred for longer journeys. Otaxi is the recommended transportation app for short-distance trips.
