Mass Migration: Millions Anticipated to Travel for 2024 Solar Eclipse
An estimated one to four million people are expected to embark on a journey to witness next year’s total solar eclipse, spanning from Texas to Maine and captivating 31 million Americans within its path of totality, according to a report by Great American Eclipse. Texas is predicted to attract the largest number of solar viewers, with over a million visitors, followed by Indiana and Ohio each expecting just over 500,000. Michael Zeiler, co-founder of Great American Eclipse, anticipates this event to be “the most-viewed astronomical event in American history,” with a total of 50 million North Americans potentially witnessing totality.
As the last total solar eclipse in North America until 2039, travel companies like Princess Cruises and Holland America Line are already offering new ways for enthusiasts to experience this celestial phenomenon.
