Alaska Airlines Strengthens Global Reach with Porter Airlines Partnership
In a strategic move to enhance its global network, Alaska Airlines has solidified a significant partnership with Porter Airlines, marking the 30th international collaboration for Alaska and its first in Canada. Travelers will now have the convenience of booking Porter Airlines flights through Alaska Airlines, accompanied by seamless mileage retention.
Porter Airlines is set to inaugurate services between Toronto and Los Angeles, as well as San Francisco, commencing in January. The airline operates the advanced Embraer E195-E2, offering a heightened travel experience with 132 passengers and a configuration devoid of middle seats.
Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances, and Sales at Alaska Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Porter Airlines opens new opportunities for our guests to travel to Canada in style.” He highlighted Porter’s refined in-flight service and outstanding amenities as contributing factors to the collaboration.
Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines, emphasized the mutual commitment to service excellence, noting, “Alaska and Porter emphasize service excellence on each and every flight, so this partnership is a natural fit for our passengers.”
Service commencement is scheduled for January 16 to Los Angeles International Airport and January 25 to San Francisco International Airport. Both airlines have outlined plans for expanding their partnership in the upcoming year.
While Alaska Airlines actively pursues global collaborations, negotiations for a potential merger with Hawaiian Airlines are ongoing, marking a significant development in the airline industry.
