Avoya Travel recently concluded its inaugural ‘Million Dollar Showcase,’ an exclusive event for high-achieving independent agencies (IAs) within the Avoya Network boasting sales of $1 million or more this year. This innovative gathering not only celebrated top-performing agencies with VIP treatment but also addressed the unique needs of high-earning IAs through personalized engagement with supplier representatives and impactful personal and professional development workshops.
Hosted at the Hilton Bellevue in Washington state over three days, the Million Dollar Showcase seamlessly set the stage for the week-long 2023 Avoya Conference, open annually to all IAs. The conference itself unfolded against the scenic backdrop of an Alaska-bound cruise aboard the Discovery Princess, departing from the nearby Port of Seattle.
The genesis of the Million Dollar Showcase stemmed from direct feedback received from Avoya IAs, particularly one individual who recognized the necessity for a networking and educational conference tailored to the challenges and opportunities faced by top-producing agencies. Senior Vice President of Partnerships, Ashley Hunter, highlighted the importance of addressing these specific needs.
Co-CEO Jeff Anderson explained the motivation behind creating the Million Dollar Showcase, emphasizing the distinct needs of seasoned professionals compared to newcomers. The event aimed to foster an environment focused exclusively on the advanced concerns and conversations of experienced multi-million-dollar producers.
Acknowledging that newer, home-based IAs may not be familiar with industry jargon and trade-specific acronyms, Anderson stressed that the Showcase provided a platform for rapid-paced discussions among seasoned professionals who have weathered the challenges of the industry.
The primary objectives of the Showcase were to impart advanced techniques for further professional growth to seasoned travel advisors and agencies and to honor top-earners for their exceptional contributions. Anderson highlighted the VIP treatment extended to these high-achievers, including complimentary accommodations and amenities, as a token of appreciation for their hard work.
The inaugural Million Dollar Showcase saw the participation of 180 trade professionals, including 66 independent advisors from the Avoya Network whose agencies achieved $1 million or more in sales this year. Remarkably, some newcomers reached this significant benchmark, and even surpassed it, within just 12 months of launching their businesses. The event stands as a testament to Avoya Travel’s commitment to recognizing and nurturing excellence within its network.
