Air Canada Introduces Seamless Air-to-Rail Travel Options in Europe
Air Canada has launched a groundbreaking program offering travelers efficient and hassle-free journeys to Europe. The airline‘s new air-to-rail booking options allow customers to seamlessly connect at European airports to four major passenger rail systems. Through strategic partnerships, travelers can now easily purchase a flight and book onward rail trips to various destinations in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
The initiative includes collaboration with Lufthansa Express Rail, AccesRail, and WorldTicket, streamlining the booking process for trains operated by France’s TGV-SNCF Voyageurs, Germany’s Deutsche Bahn, Swiss Federal Railways, or Austria’s national railway, ÖBB.
With the added convenience of checking in for all segments of the trip before departure, passengers avoid the need to obtain a train ticket at the station. In the event of flight disruptions, automatic rebooking for both air and rail segments ensures peace of mind for all travelers.
Air Canada’s extensive partnership portfolio now encompasses three joint business agreements, 39 codeshares, 120 interline, and four intermodal rail options, providing access to over 1,200 destinations. The airline has also revealed an expanded international summer 2024 flying schedule, featuring 100% of its peak summer 2019 trans-Atlantic capacity. With 53 routes to 31 cities across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India, Air Canada solidifies its commitment to developing the Toronto and Montreal hubs’ trans-Atlantic footprint in the years to come.
