New Orleans to Host Pastry World Cup and Bocuse d’Or 2024

New Orleans & Company is thrilled to announce that the Americas selections of the Pastry World Cup and the Bocuse d’Or will take place in the United States for the first time in 2024. The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will be the venue for these continental selections on June 11, 12, and 13, 2024, featuring top pastry chefs and cooks from across the Americas.
New Orleans, Gastronomic Haven
Renowned for its French and Spanish influences, New Orleans boasts a diverse culinary heritage. Iconic dishes such as gumbo and crawfish étouffée showcase the city’s rich Creole cuisine. Recognized by the James Beard Foundation and named Best Food Destination in the US by Tripadvisor in 2023, New Orleans is the ideal host for these culinary competitions.
Event Highlights.
- Pastry World Cup Americas Selection (June 11): Up to eight countries will compete, with the top three teams earning a spot in the Grand Finale at Sirha Lyon® in January 2025.
- Bocuse d’Or Americas (June 12-13): Up to 12 countries will vie for qualification, with the top five teams advancing to the Grand Finale in France in January 2025.
USA’s Culinary Legacy.
The USA team, a regular participant, has achieved podium success six times at the Pastry World Cup, including a World Champions title in 2001, and twice at the Bocuse d’Or, with Mathew Peters securing victory in 2017.

Continental Selections Worldwide in 2024.
Following national selections, 2024 will see continental selections for both competitions worldwide. The European Selection of the Pastry World Cup kicks off in Paris on January 21-22, with the Bocuse d’Or Europe taking place in Trondheim, Norway, on March 19-20.
